[April 11] WM6.1 5.2.19202-count_1.0 Beta Release

As promised the weekend is here.... I have made the primarily test and it looks good. Please note this is not a cooked ROM but a mere translation of what was released in bbs.xbeta.cn. I want to release this ROM as is and would want to eliminate any issues found due to translation. So this is a BETA RELEASE. Please report any bugs and we will try to fix them

Before I go on ...i have to say …
Big Thanks to freepk for his great patience and the help he provided. Without him pointing out I wouldn’t have known about the Chinese ROM. And yes most important his tool to XOR

Now before you go about…A word of caution

How to Flash the ROM
Note: This is via the PC and I find this very easy & quick. You will need your USB cable for it. Anyone who cant do this, let me know I will prepare the SD card update
1. Download the ROM from <a href="http://rapidshare.com/files/106762277/G900_6.1_CNT1.0_Beta.zip" target="_blank">Here</a>
2. Extract the zip file in a temp folder
3. there are two files in the folder, one zip file and another DIP file
4. Unzip the SuperRUU.zip file.
5. Disconnect your device and turn your device OFF
6. Double click SuperRuu.exe
7. Ensure the OS radio button is selected (this should be the default). WARNING you will brick your device if you select anything other than “OS”
8. Click on “…” button and select the wmupdat.dip file
9. Click “update target” button and it will say "Waiting for USB connection"
10. Now press and hold the left softkey and press the power button on G900
11. It will boot into the USB update mode and wait till it reads “Waiting for USB connection”
12. NOW connect the USB port to the device
13. The PC software will start updating the device and you will see the progress on the device
14. It should take about 2 to 3 minutes and after which it will say when the upgrade is complete and press a button to restart
15. The device will restart …and you should have the 6.1…..have fun

My next work will be to prepare a cooked ROM with goodies....

not much actually
Its little faster than WM6
OS based Task manager
Getting Started app (Ohh come on...)
Threaded SMS...etc

I will include a decent log when i release the ROM.

When it comes to OS it is pretty much the same as WM6, with few changes i mentioned above. The ROM compared to 3.07 ROM, this is a clean ROM with no frills. ie No eT9, TipTalk, GoldKey... but includes all the drivers, Opera, Camera & Finger software
